Style 718 Soft
Style 718 Soft is braided from pure PTFE fibers, then treated with a Teflon suspensoid. An inert high temperature lubricant is added, making 718 Soft suitable for high speed pump service where shaft speeds reach 1200 FPM. Because Teflon is chemically inert, this packing will provide excellent service in highly corrosive chemical environments. 718 is a soft, pliable packing, allowing for fine gland adjustment, thereby minimizing the leakage of an expensive or hazardous product. 718 is recommended for pump applications over a wide range of chemical environments. Chemicals, acids, and steam, on pumps, valves, mixers and agitators.
